The ECig Movement
The E-Cigarette Movement
Recently, people are starting to use electronic cigarettes as an alternative to tobacco smoking. Who could blame them? With over 4000 toxins and chemicals found in conventional cigarettes that cause the death of thousands every year, you will want to move to a safer and more convenient alternative.
Electronic cigarettes or ‘e-cigs’ are battery-powered devices that give a smoker the oral satisfaction of inhaling and exhaling vapor without the harmful effects of tobacco. This also means that there will be no second-hand smoking that can cause inconvenience to the non-smokers around you, no risk of lung cancer, no teeth discoloration, and no smoke stink on your clothes.
Now, how do e-cigs work? An electronic cigarette is composed of three components: a plastic cartridge that serves as a mouthpiece and a reservoir for a liquid nicotine solution, an ‘atomizer’ that heat the liquid to form vapor, and a battery as one can see in some electronic cigarette reviews. When smoking or ‘vaping’ an e-cig, you can activate it by pressing the button found on the device, hold for a second or two, and take a few puffs from the cartridge end. If you have the automatic battery, it activates when air passes through the heat element, this is popular to many e-cig users since you can instantly use this whenever and wherever you want without pushing any button to activate, just take a few small, quick puffs to get it going. For step-by-step instructions on using electronic cigarettes, read a few electronic cigarette reviews.
Today, electronic cigarette companies sell their products through retail stores and online. A wide array of models and brands are available. A few electronic cigarette reviews offer a complete list of brands, rated or otherwise, such as V2 Cigs, Apollo E-cigs, South Beach Smoke, and Vapor Contour, among others. Some of these products mimic the appearance of tobacco cigarettes, while others look like cigars, pipes and even pens. The prices of these e-cigs vary from $40 to $120 for a starter kit, which includes a charger, usually a USB cable for convenient charging, and a few cartridges along with the electronic cigarette. These cartridges usually last as long as a pack of 20 tobacco cigarettes that sells for about $10 each. E-cig users can also purchase bottles of liquid nicotine to refill the cartridges themselves. This reduces the cost of use, making e-cigs not only easy to use but also cheaper than traditional cigarettes. Electronic cigarette reviews are of great help when deciding to purchase e-cigs.
There are a lot of benefits in using an electronic cigarette compared to the conventional ones: you can breathe easier since there are no toxins that are very harmful to your lungs, such as hydrogen cyanide; you can taste your food properly, since tobacco cigarettes can destroy your taste buds; there are no accidental burns by smoking a cigarette, it’s much less messy having no ash, and your breath can remain fresh and odor free.
However, a lot of regulatory agencies and health experts are uncertain if e-cigs that are safe. Many claim that e-cigs help them give up smoking and improve their lives; the World Health Organization says that there isn’t enough evidence to prove that electronic cigarettes are safe to use. But even if it’s proven to be perfectly safe, there is another objection being raised regarding e-cigs: in its capability to encourage children to smoke, especially now that e-cigs come in multiple flavors [such as Coffee, Chocolate, Vanilla, Mint, Banana, Cherry, et cetera… that might attract the youth.
Smoking and promoting electronic cigarettes is a kind of movement. By doing this, conventional cigarettes are starting to be forgotten and being further burdened until the time comes when it is completely out of the system. Thenceforth, there will be a beginning of a new era. Like what we did to the silent film when sound was introduced. We patronized the dashing new, with-sound movies, forgetting the pure visual ones.
And like every movement, it starts with a choice: will you be a loyal to conventional cigarette smoking, like Charlie Chaplin to the silent film? Or will you drop that tobacco bolt to the nearest electronic cigarette store because of an electronic cigarette review that you have just read?
